Civil Litigation Associate (District Court Focus)

Location: Raleigh, NC (Wake County)

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000+ (Commensurate with experience)

The Opportunity

A prestigious, multi-practice law firm in Raleigh is seeking a driven Civil Litigation Associate to manage and scale a high-volume stream of quality, high-margin leads. This role is designed for a trial-ready attorney with 1–2 years of experience who wants consistent courtroom exposure rather than document review. You will independently handle a diverse civil caseload with a heavy focus on landlord-tenant disputes (landlord side), collections, foreclosures, and general District Court litigation.

This firm operates in specialized practice silos that allow for genuine mentorship, professional autonomy, and a clear, proven track to partnership for those focused on building a long-term career in Wake County.

Core Responsibilities

  • Courtroom Advocacy: Frequently represent clients in District Court hearings, motions, and trials.
  • Caseload Management: Oversee a diverse docket of general civil litigation, landlord-tenant law, and collections.
  • Lead Optimization: Vet and develop inbound inquiries to build a highly profitable, sustainable practice area.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work directly with senior partners while maintaining the independence to drive cases forward.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–2 years of private practice experience, with demonstrated in-court District Court exposure.
  • Practice Areas: Prior exposure to Landlord-Tenant, Debt Collection, Foreclosure, HOA, or Small Claims.
  • Background: The firm highly values unique life experience, grit, and a strong work ethic (e.g., military service, working through school, or manual labor backgrounds).
  • Licensure: Active member of the North Carolina State Bar in good standing.
  • Screening: Position requires excellent professional references, a comprehensive background check, and a clean urinalysis.
