The Opportunity
A premier, forward-thinking business law firm is seeking an ambitious Complex Commercial Litigation Associate to join its dynamic dispute resolution practice in Raleigh. Moving away from rigid, single-niche silos, this position offers an expansive trial runway to collaborate directly with acclaimed advocates on high-stakes business lawsuits, intellectual property/technology disputes, employment matters, real estate litigation, and regulatory challenges.
Core Responsibilities

Case Architecture & Strategy: Direct all phases of the litigation lifecycle, driving thorough pre-suit investigations, factual discovery, and comprehensive defense and prosecution strategies.

Deposition & Courtroom Advocacy: Function as first-chair advocate in depositions, evidentiary hearings, and oral arguments commensurate with demonstrated competency.

Substantive Brief Writing: Perform advanced legal research and author pleadings, administrative challenges, summary judgment motions, and critical appellate briefs.

Discovery Management: Supervise complex written discovery protocols, oversee third-party subpoena workflows, and manage multi-faceted document productions.

Trial & Arbitration Preparation: Partner with senior trial counsel to build comprehensive trial notebooks, draft motions in limine, vet expert disclosures, and formulate presentation strategies.

Strategic Client Advisory: Interface directly with corporate executives and institutional clients, providing authoritative risk assessments, case status reports, and strategic exposure counseling.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with transactional, real estate, and IP practice groups to address multi-faceted legal issues arising within complex business disputes.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 4–6 years of substantive, high-level Complex Commercial Litigation experience within a respected law firm ecosystem.

Academic Credentials: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school backed by a highly distinguished academic record.

Bar Admission: Active license to practice law in good standing with any U.S. jurisdiction; must obtain a North Carolina State Bar license within one year of hire.
